Summons to court for fraud as a westerner

Some advice please, I took money from someone in thailand and didn't pay them back. The money come from mine and my wife's bank account . We now have a summons to go to court for fraud and I am a Westerner my wife is thai. They are saying that they have all the evidence to prove we are guilty. I have been offered an out of court settlement of half a million baht. I have a child and understand that being found guilty will lead to deportation and blacklisting . Is it worth fighting the case or paying the compensation . The amount was only 24,000 now they are asking for 500,000 to stop it going to court for my wife and me .
